Bagel Tart Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour, for dusting
  • 1 sheet (14 oz.) frozen puff pastry, thawed 
  • 1 large egg, beaten, plus 6 whole large eggs 
  • 2 tbsp. “everything” seasoning 
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, softened 
  • • 1½ cups (6 oz.) shredded Gruyère cheese
  • • 3 oz. smoked salmon, torn into bite-size pieces 
  • • 2 tbsp. chopped chives

Bagel Tart Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 425°. 
  • Cut parchment paper to fit a 13-by-18-inch baking sheet. 
  • On counter, dust paper lightly with flour and roll out puff pastry on paper, to an 11-by-14-inch rectangle.
  • Slide parchment and pastry onto the baking sheet. 
  • Score a 1-inch border around the pastry; prick center all over with a fork. 
  • Brush border with 1 beaten egg and sprinkle with bagel seasoning. 
  • Bake until golden, 13 to 15 minutes. Spread cream cheese inside border, sprinkle with Gruyère, and crack 6 eggs, evenly spaced, across the top. 
  • Season with salt and pepper. 
  • Bake until whites are set, 12 to 15 minutes more.
  • Top with smoked salmon and chives.
  • Serves 6.
